Beschreibung
By the People is a game for 2-4 Candidates running for President of the United States of America. Similar to real life, in order to win you must win the most Electoral Votes, which you earn by winning States to vote for you. Each state is won on Election night by having the best score among the Candidates based on the voter interests in that State.
The game is played out over 2 stages: The Campaign trail, and the Election night. During the Campaign trail, candidates must maneuver the challenges of rallying support by visiting States with their Candidate pawns each turn to different States as well as alternating rounds proposing policies to appeal to different voter interests by drafting policy cards and handling debates within the game in a simultaneous take-that debate card selection. These policy cards and debate cards increase or decrease the Candidate's voter interest among the 12 categories used to score the State cards. After the 4 rounds of the Campaign Trail are completed, the Candidates head towards Election night.
Candidates will also try and earn momentum on the campaign trail BY earning Endorsements in order to gain an advantage on Election night. Endorsement cards are goal cards which are achieved by meeting certain Voter interest levels. This momentum is spent to increase a Candidate's final score trying to win a State.
While the game is based in the political realm, it avoids connection to specific real world politics or organizations. On Election night, each of the 50 States and the District of Columbia are scored and their respect Electoral votes are scored for the Candidate which best meets their voter interests.
